e¹ may process the following information locally on your device:

• Screenshots or photos you choose to capture or open in e¹
• The highlighted area you select
• Text recognized from the highlighted area
• Bookmark text and generated bookmark images
• Local app settings, such as text recognition language preferences
• Current Apple Music playback status and artwork, if you grant Apple Music access

This information is used to provide e¹'s core features. It is not uploaded to our servers.

e¹ uses on-device OCR to recognize text from the area you highlight.

The original screenshot or photo is used temporarily during the current editing session. After a bookmark is successfully generated and saved, the temporary source image is intended to be discarded. e¹ stores the final bookmark data and generated bookmark image, not the original screenshot or photo.

If you use e¹'s built-in camera, the app requests camera access so you can capture a photo and highlight text from it.

When you choose a photo for the canvas, e¹ uses Apple's system photo picker. You grant access only to the photo you select, and e¹ does not request access to your full photo library.

When you choose to save or share a generated bookmark image, e¹ uses the iOS system share sheet. If you select Save Image, iOS handles saving the image to your photo library.

If you grant Apple Music access, e¹ uses the permission to display your current playback status and artwork inside the app.

e¹ may display Apple Music playback information inside the app, such as playback status, progress, song title, artist, album information, and album artwork.

e¹ does not display lyrics in the first TestFlight version.

e¹ does not upload your Apple Music listening activity to our servers. If e¹ loads artwork through Apple's iTunes services, that request is handled by Apple's services.

When artwork is loaded through Apple's iTunes services, e¹ may send song, artist, or album search information to Apple's iTunes services to find the relevant artwork.

e¹ may store diagnostic logs on your device to help troubleshoot crashes and bugs.

These logs are designed to include technical information such as app version, iOS version, device model, error codes, crash or failure time, and non-content workflow status.

Diagnostic logs are designed not to include original screenshots or photos, cropped OCR images, OCR text, bookmark text, search queries, or user-entered content.

Logs are not sent automatically. You may choose to send logs to us by email for support.

If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and any information you choose to include in the message. We use this information only to respond to your request and improve e¹.

The first TestFlight version of e¹ does not use iCloud or CloudKit sync.

If we add iCloud or CloudKit sync in a future version, this privacy policy will be updated before that feature is released.

The first TestFlight version of e¹ does not use third-party analytics SDKs.

If this changes in the future, this privacy policy and App Store privacy information will be updated.

e¹ is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy as e¹ changes. The updated policy will be posted at the same privacy policy URL with a new "Last updated" date.
